"Intensive Aquaculture & Fish Health" course is an intensive training programme aimed at boosting farmers' knowledge & productivity.
The course is specifically created to enhance farmers' understanding of how to use locally available materials in quality catfish production, starting from fish culture system designing to aquafeed production, and fish processing.
Students should be able to produce quality fish of 1kg (average weight) within 6 - 7 months (from day-old larvae) or about 4 months (from fingerlings), at minimal cost. Those producing fish seedlings (fry, fingerlings, juveniles) should be able to enhance their seed (fish egg) / seedling survivability, using simple techniques. Likewise, the usefulness of aquaculture wastes for increase productivity, would be discussed.
